Nude photos discovered on phone seized from arrested individuals

Nude photos of numerous individuals were discovered on a mobile phone found in the possession of two people arrested for threatening, looting, and blackmail, the Maldives Police Service revealed at the Criminal Court today.

The two individuals in question are Ali Irushad, Galolhu Beruge and Ahmed Areeb, Galolhu Shaaraaz.

Police revealed that the individuals were arrested in Malé and presented at court for remand, which was granted pending the outcome of their trial.

According to the court ruling, both men were arrested at the scene of the crime shortly after the incident took place. Police also discovered the victim's phone on them, which contained nude images and videos of multiple people in it.

Both individuals arrested have a history of previous crimes, and their remand was granted on the basis that the crime was premeditated and that there is a risk to public safety if they are released.

No further information has been revealed regarding the case yet, including why the victim's phone contained the videos and images.

However, the court order stated that the statements of the individual who filed the complaint and the statements of the officers who attended the scene match.
