Zaha Waheed, was removed from the position of Fisheries Minister, and transferred to a Minister at the President's Office on Monday evening.
It is unclear why she was let go of as Minister so abruptly.
Local media Mihaaru news reported that they got confirmation that this development was informed to Zaha by the President's Office sometime in the evening.
Rumors have been circulating recently that the administration was bringing changes to the cabinet and other high ranking positions within the government. The President's Office had also informed other political parties they plan to bring these changes to the positions of other ministers as well.
Zaha was appointed to the Minister as a representative of Maumoon Reform Movement (MRM) on the cabinet.
