Mohamed Umar Manik Foundation announced its decision to extend training programs based in India, to field officers in the agriculture sector.
Six people will receive the opportunity to participate in an all-expenses-paid training programme at the Tamil Nadu Agriculture University (TNAU).
Commending the foundation’s initiative, the Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture Zaha Waheed asserted the importance of supporting government efforts to further strengthen the agricultural industry.
The programme is set to commence on July 29 and will span over six months.
Ministry staff and locals from Kelaa in Haa Alif Atoll, Nellaidhoo in Haa Dhaal Atoll, Vaadhoo in Raa Atoll, Maamendhoo in Gaafu Alif Atoll and Fuvahmulah City will be participating in the programme.
Moreover, the Fisheries Ministry and the Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) early July, seeking to strengthen the agriculture sector.
