Today's meeting concerns the motion submitted by Hulhudhoo MP from ruling People's National Congress (PNC) proposing the dismissal of the PG.
As soon as the meeting scheduled for 10:30 hrs this morning commenced, Thulusdhoo MP Ibrahim Naseem said that the no confidence motion against the Prosecutor General is a sensitive issue, adding that the matter would involve personal information of other individuals as well.
Naseem further said that in a previous meeting, Shameem himself had said that the PG's comments must be held confidential.
"We must show respect, and I believe it is best to respect the wishes of those in independent institutions and hold this meeting closed," Naseem said.
Although the Committee has come to this decision, the PG Oggice has said earlier today that Shameem had requested that this meeting be held open to the public and be broadcast live.
