High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka Omar Abdul Razzak, on Wednesday, met with Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the commissioner discussed the long-standing bilateral ties between Maldives and Sri Lanka, as well as avenues for multilateral cooperation in the international arena.
Notably, High Commissioner Razzak also conveyed concerns to Prime Minister Rajapaksa regarding difficulties faced by Maldivian citizens residing in Sri Lanka as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sri Lanka is the most-frequented destination for Maldivians travelling abroad for medical purposes and vacation.
