The World Health Organisation (WHO) will host a virtual event titled the “Big Event for Mental Health” on Saturday night, on the occasion of World Mental Health Day 2020.
According to WHO, several mental health experts and celebrity guests will join WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in this event, including President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, to “tell the world what we can all do to improve our mental health and how we can help make sure that quality mental health care is available to everyone who needs it”.
The three-hour-long event will be virtually telecasted across all of WHO’s social media platforms starting from 1900hrs Maldives time.
The World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10 every year. With the ongoing global pandemic, this year’s events largely focus on increasing investments to provide psychosocial support, with the theme “Move for mental health: let’s invest”.
