He suffered a stroke yesterday while he was visiting his home island of Eydhafushi in Baa atoll with his family for the Eid holidays.
Ismail Naseer was brought to the capital, Malé City, for further treatment in an air ambulance around 01:00 hrs last night after receiving initial treatment at the Atoll Hospital in Eydhafushi.
Ismail is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU of ADK Hospital, and his condition is serious.
Ismail Naseer, 47, has been in the field of journalism for 28 years. He previously served as the Managing Editor of 'Haveeru' News and began his journalism career with 'Aafathis' News.
