Both management companies for Tree Top Hospital, the first state of the art medical facility in the Maldives, have mutually parted ways.

According to local media Mihaaru, the hospital was previously managed in collaboration with Australia’s Ramsey Group and Malaysia’s Sine Darby and has now transitioned to managing operations internally.

Tree Top Hospital is yet to make an official statement regarding the matter. The reason for the management companies resigning from operations is as yet unknown.

Meanwhile, Tree Top Hospital recently discontinued some of their departments and has terminated employees, allegedly due to financial losses. Additionally, the hospital cutting costs has resulted in the resignation of several managerial staff members.

The hospital, which cost USD 110 million (MVR 1.7 billion), boasts world-class healthcare led by some of the leading magnates of Maldives.

Comprising of five categories for patient admittance, the establishment features 159 rooms including 30 shared rooms, 57 individual rooms, four junior suites, six superior suites and two presidential suites.

At the time of its launch, the only patients at Tree Top who received Aasandha Medical Insurance were those hospitalized for emergency reasons.

However, a newly implemented policy now accepts insurance coverage for every service provided by the ultra-modern hospital, for all patients.
