Schools in the Greater Male' region were initially shut down on March 12, as a precautionary measure amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. They were reopened for a brief period from July 1, before being shut down until September 3, due to a spike in virus cases.
During the periods of school closure, students are taught via online platforms.
