Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) on Sunday revealed that its leader, Kaashidhoo MP Abdulla Jabir was issued a summons by the Anti-Corruption Commission for refusing to give a statement regarding an ongoing probe into President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Over the course of the 19th Parliament, MP Jabir has issued controversial claims against the president, including a loan taken from the businessman and allegations that President Solih unjustly seized the presidency secured by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
Moreover, alleging that the president reaped financial benefit from the grand embezzlement of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Jabir has called for his resignation.
The case against President Solih was submitted by a member of the public in reference to Jabir's claims.
