President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated on Thursday that the opposition is aiming to spread disinformation regarding all matters.

He made this statement in an episode of 'President's Response' - the social media based question and answer program run by the government.

The President alleges that with the failure of their being any legitimate criticism for the opposition to bring against the actions of the present government, they are resorting to concocting tales.

The President reminded that everything he said during his Presidential election campaign speeches are available in the form of a book.

"So what deception can I commit, with that? In that [the book], there is clearly laid out, for all to see, every single thing I said in relation to a specific island, or the country as a whole. So it is right there to be seen. There is documental evidence of everything I have said," the President said.

The President revealed that even now, his speeches were being recorded and transcribed. He said that interviews to various media will also be available in writing.

"Whatever I say, I say with sincerity, from the bottom of my heart. I say things knowing that Allah sees all, Allah knows all, with the absolute intention of fulfilling the things I say I will as far as my competence and capability allows," the President asserted.

The President alleged that regardless of which issue is considered, the opposition is seen to be creating tales and spreading disinformation around it.

"They try to make it appear as if I have changed my statements from what I have said once to another way in another speech I give. I am not a person who will cause any loss to the people through lies or deception. I work with sincerity, honesty, and integrity towards the people," the President affirmed.

The President called on the people to be cautious about believing all they hear, advising to root out the truth of everything.

"You must not accept at face value anything that is said, regardless of whether it is said by someone who was in a very senior position earlier, or is in some senior position now. Analyze those words for yourselves. Whatever I have said is there to be found in documentation," the President said.
