Fenaka Corporation Limited has announced that a generator will be transported to Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi tomorrow to resolve the electricity crisis.

Seven generators are utilized to supply electricity to Kulhudhuffushi. However, due to the heatwave, the generators cannot maintain the required load, leading to insufficient electricity in the island. As a result, power cuts are implemented on the island at certain hours.

The residents of Kulhudhuffushi have expressed concern over the issue. Fenaka’s Managing Director, Muaz Mohamed Rasheed, informed ‘Mihaaru’ that an 800-kilowatt generator has been dispatched to Kulhudhuffushi to provide a temporary solution to the electricity crisis.

“An 800-kilowatt genset is being transported to Kulhudhuffushi”, Muaz said. “It will arrive on the island tomorrow”.

He mentioned that the transportation of the generator will provide a temporary solution to the issue.

According to Muaz, a 1.2-megawatt generator is required to bring a permanent solution to the electricity crisis and the procurement process for it has already begun.

“It has been purchased and is on the way. We are also dispatching the 800-kilowatt generator to find a faster solution”.
