The Power Knot Liquid Food Composter (LFC) Bio-Digester represents an efficient waste management solution for the tourism industry.

Marketed and distributed by Hospitality Depot Pvt Ltd, the LFC is an automatic composting machine that disposes of most food matter within a 24 hours.

The LFC operates through a series of processes in which micro-organisms break down biodegradable material in the presence of oxygen. The environment of the LFC, containing a mixture of microbes and enzymes, accelerates the digestion of most food products and bio-plastics to a 24-hour period.

Both raw and cooked foods including fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, cheese, bread, rice, and noodles can be disposed using the LFC.

The only byproduct of the LFC is environmentally safe grey water that can be discharged into drainage systems or used to enrich the landscape.

Overall, the Power Knot LFC Bio-Digester is a green and convenient alternative to traditional food waste disposal methods that result in high amounts of CO2 release from landfill sites.

Hospitality Depot provides compulsory user training following installation, in order to familiarise customers with usage procedure and maintenance requirements.

Currently utilised by Dusit Thani Maldives and pending installation at Four Seasons Resort, the LFC is suitable for a variety of establishments in the tourism industry that must regularly dispose of food waste including resort-based restaurants and small liveaboards. The LFC is available in a range of sizes with capacities between 25 to 1000 kilograms, in order to meet different waste processing needs.

Notably, the Maldives Association of Tourism Industries (MATI) has endorsed the Power Knot LFC Bio-Digester following a recent webinar which was attended by several resorts and tourism industry stakeholders.

Furthermore, Hospitality Depot is also in contact with the Ministry of Environment regarding possibilities to install the LFC at inhabited islands.
