Tuesday becomes the day the most number of marriages registered in capital Male' year 2021.
The culture of marrying on date that appears aesthetically pleasing is prevalent in Maldives. As 21/12/2021 is a "nice" date to get married to, Family Court said they registered 57 marriages in Male' alone today. Twenty eight of these marriages were registered in the court while 29 marriages will be conducted outside of the court.
It is believed a significant number of people will be getting married in other parts of the country as well today.
Most marriages were registered last year on February 20, as the date 20/02/2020 is one of the coveted aesthetically pleasing dates. It was the date with the highest recorded marriages on such a date in recent years.
Only ten marriages are registered in Male' on average.
