Police said today that they will repair the damages caused to an illegally parked taxi while it was being towed, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Photos shared on social media show the taxi with a shattered windshield and other significant damages. The post read that these damages were sustained during the towing process.
In response, Assistant Commissioner of Police and Spokesperson Ahmed Shifan said that the police will assist the vehicle owner with the repairs and that the cause of the damage is under investigation.
The taxi was reportedly parked illegally in a motorcycle zone near Maldives National University (MNU).
