President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih today urged the people to forgive those who hold feelings of envy and rivalry and open their hearts to friendship and unity.

In his message on the occasion of Fitr Eid, the President said that the highest satisfaction gained from the month of Ramadan is the rekindling of one's faith. He said that the highest priority should be given to maintaining the path of Islam and the purity of souls obtained with the worship of fasting.

"We should resolve not to harbor envy or rivalry in our hearts and avoid commotion and unrest under any circumstances," he said. "Instead, we should open our hearts to friendship and unity, with closeness, love, compassion, and kindness towards others."

The President emphasized the importance of remembering the underprivileged and needy in the society while celebrating Eid and urged people to celebrate without discrimination. He added that while Eid is an occasion for showing gratitude, one of the greatest blessings for Maldivians is friendship, unity, and peace among the people of the country.

"As we celebrate this happy occasion, our top priority should be to work hard to maintain this blessing," he said.
