The ceremony held at the President's Office today saw Nasrullah presenting the jersey he wore during the marathon to the Vice President as a memoir alongside the medal as well.
One of the athlete's most firm resolutions is to attain a record number of marathons in Asia. The Vice President had encouraged Nasrullah to persevere in his efforts to achieve this ambition at the ceremony today.
According to the President's Office, the Vice President also deliberated avenues of government cooperation towards the athlete's development and prosperity in the marathon field.
Nasrullah had reached his 95th marathon streak at the run held in Anatolia, Turkey on March this year.
Beginning his running career as early as 1999 with a marathon held by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) in Male' City, Nasrullah credits the most successful year of his career to 2018. The athlete had clocked a time quicker than four hours during each of the 13 marathons he completed during the year. His most notable marathon was the 2022 Hindustan Marathon held in New Delhi, India where he commendably secured first place.
Nasrullah, who serves as a First Class Sergeant at the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) had presented his 80th marathon medal to the then Minister of Defence, Mariya Ahmed Didi in 2022.
