Nasru, who debuted at the 1999 MTCC Marathon in Malé city, is currently gearing up for a marathon in Anatolia, Turkey, scheduled for 3rd March, which will be his 95th marathon.
His primary goal is to achieve the milestone of completing his 100th marathon this year. "I am determined to run my 100th marathon this year, most probably in either Tokyo or London," he declared.
Nasru, who also serves as a coach for long-distance runners, previously announced his intention to offer marathon training to Maldivians interested in running alongside him during the 100th marathon.
Among the runners under his coaching, Shamha Ahmed stands out with various long-distance records, including achievements in marathons, half marathons, as well as long distance races. Another sprinter mentored by Nasru, Yoosuf Ibrahim, holds the record for the men's half marathon in Maldives.
The pinnacle of Nasru's marathon journey occurred in 2018, during which he participated in 13 marathons, completing each one in less than four hours. He claimed top position in the Hindustan Marathon in India in 2020.
