People's National Congress (PNC) Chairperson Abdul Raheem Abdulla has stated that the party has submitted 12000 membership forms to the Elections Commission (EC).
Abdul Raheem said that the party is conducting efforts to turn PNC into the largest political party in the country.
PNC started a major membership drive following its success in the presidential election. Thousands of new members have joined the party from across the country within the past one and a half months.
Abdul Raheem, who also serves as Special Advisor to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, revealed that an additional 12,000 forms have been submitted to EC so far.
"We still have about 20,000 more forms yet to be submitted to EC," he said.
Abdul Raheem said that the party aspires to reach membership of 25,000 to 30,000 by the end of the year.
"We are dedicated to ensuring PNC becomes the largest political party in the Maldives," he said.
