Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has demanded the clearance of long-overdue goods kept at the commercial harbor site.

While the authority's announcement was made public on Thursday, 24th February, all relevant consignees have been given notice on Wednesday, 23rd February to clear out their goods.

MPL has provided the consignees with a duration of seven days effective from 23rd February.

Moreover, the authority had warned that failure to comply with their request will be met with MPL auctioning the items off while items beyond auctioning - either due to poor condition or nature - will be disposed of according to the authority's guidelines.

MPL had also warned that any expense incurred in disposing of the items will be billed to the original consignee.
