With the update, a total of 3,520 plots will now be allocated under the housing scheme.
All land plots in Hulhumale' Phase 2 have been handed over to Male' citizens under the Binveriyaa Housing Scheme.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu previously stated that all designated plots from Hulhumale' Phase 2 would be handed over to recipients by the end of this month.
The Ministry of Housing, Land, and Urban Development in a post on X last night said that the handover has been completed.
Under the Binveriyaa scheme, initiated by former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, a total of 1,408 plots of land have been allocated to Male' citizens in Hulhumale' Phase 2. The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has installed boundary markers on many of these plots.
The previous administration also decided to allocate 699 land plots in Hulhumale' Phase 3. However, the necessary land reclamation for this project has not yet been completed.
Under the Binveriyaa scheme, over 9,000 plots of land will be allocated to Male' citizens from Hulhumale', Gulhi Falhu, and Giraavaru Falhu. The reclamation work required for land allocation in Hulhumale' Phase 3, as well as in Gulhi Falhu and Giraavaru Falhu, remains unfinished.
Since the new government took office, significant changes have been made to the land use plan for both Hulhumale' Phase 3 and Gulhi Falhu.
These changes include a request from initial recipients of plots in Giraavaru Falhu to switch to Gulhi Falhu. With the changes in the land use plan, a redraw of Gulhi Falhu plots will take place today at Dharubaaruge Rannabandeyri Maalam.
With the update, a total of 3,520 plots will now be allocated under the housing scheme.
