Waste management Corporation Limited (WAMCO) has stated that they had conducted the renovation work on Muraidhooge, the official residence of the Speaker of Parliament.
Muraidhooge was assigned as the official residence for Parliament Speakers in efforts to improve security measures following the bombing attack on former Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed on May 6, 2021.
WAMCO confirmed that the company had conducted renovation work on Muraidhooge ahead of current Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla taking up residence there.
However, neither the Ministry of Finance nor WAMCO disclosed details of the expenditure made on renovations.
Speaker Abdul Raheem moved to the official residence on July 26.
