Maldivian nationals traveling to Kazakhstan will be exempted from visa effective from September 14, 2022.
According Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the exemption allows locals holding valid diplomatic, official and ordinary passports to enter and stay in Kazakhstan "a maximum period of 30 days from the day" of entry.
This comes in accordance with the visa exemption agreement signed between Maldives and Kazakhstan on May 9, 2022. Moreover, Maldivians intending to stay longer than the visa exempt duration for work, or to attend educational institutions, or for business will be required to obtain appropriate visa prior to travel.
Maldives government views this visa exemption to Kazakhstan as a "commitment to further strengthen the bilateral relations between" the two nations, and an "important milestone that will facilitate stronger people to people contact, business and investment opportunities" for the countries.
