Maldivian Airlines has assured that the aircrafts used in the newly launched National Air Ambulance Services are secure and safe, adding that the medical equipment in the aircraft has been fixed to the surfaces.

A Dash 8 airplane and a seaplane from Maldivian are being used for the air ambulance services. The two aircrafts have been repurposed to serve the purposes of an air ambulance, with the facilities to provide emergency medical care to patients during transport.

The Dash 8 airplane used in the service was first brought to the Maldives in 2016.

Criticisms have been voiced about the age of the aircraft. However, Maldivian assures that it has been regularly conducting scheduled flights right until it was allocated for use in the air ambulance service.

"This company always prioritizes the safety of crew and passengers," Maldivian asserted.
