COVID-19: Death toll reaches 195

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said on Saturday that the COVID-19 fatalities in Maldives has reached 195.

Four people had passed away due to COVID-19 over the weekend. They have all been Maldivian.

A 60 year old woman admitted in Dharumavantha Hospital passed away on Friday morning.

On Saturday a 84 year old woman admitted in Hulhumale' Medical Facility (HMF) had passed away. A 25 year old woman admitted in Dharumavantha Hospital had also passed away in the afternoon, while a 92 year old man admitted in Laamu COVID Management Facility had passed away earlier in the morning.

The 25 year old woman, Samiya Ahmed, was from Faafu Nilandhoo and had a premature cesarean done on May 29 to take her baby out due to her declining health from being COVID positive. She was brought to Male' the previous day.

Her child is being currently treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU, according to HPA.

Thursday was the first day since June started that a single COVID-19 death was not recorded.
