Foreign Minister discusses tax-free fish exports to UK Minister of State Lord Ahmad

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid, on Wednesday, on a virtual call with the United Kingdom's Minister of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, deliberated on the elimination of tariff on Maldivian fish exports to the UK.

During the call, State Minister Ahmad thanked Minister Shahid for accepting the call and for Maldives' continuous cooperation within areas of mutual interest such as climate change and counter-terrorism in the future.

During the call, both parties discussed cooperation at the upcoming Climate Ambition Summit and the COP26 and Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in 2021.

In conclusion, the two representatives conveyed confidence in continued involvement and support bilaterally and internationally.
