The newly appointed Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mohamed Khaleel, on Wednesday, presented his letter of credence to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at a ceremony held in Riyadh.
Following the presentation ceremony, Ambassador Khaleel held an audience with King Salman, during which he conveyed President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s appreciation of the king’s firm leadership in strengthening the unity of the Islamic community.
Ambassador Kaleel also reiterated the administration's eagerness to further enhance bilateral relations between Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
In response, King Salman conveyed greetings to President Solih and welcomed Ambassador Khaleel to his position.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of State and Saudi Arabian Cabinet Member Dr Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban as well as Saudi Arabia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Ibrahim Bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf.
