Qatar Airways plans to start a new flight to Maldives

Qatar Airways, on Tuesday, announced plans to add an additional flight from Doha to Velana International Airport (VIA), Maldives.

The new service, commencing from October 28, 2018, will be operated by A330-300 and A320-200 aircraft. This will increase the number of scheduled flights to Maldives to three per day.

Qatar Airways state that the new service is a part of the airline's expansion in Asia. They added that this will provide its passengers more flexibility when planning holidays in Maldives.

The third daily flight to the Maldives will increase connectivity to London, Berlin, Paris, Milan, Rome, Frankfurt, Zurich, Moscow, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Nairobi via Qatar Airways’ five-star hub, Hamad International Airport.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Mr Akbar Al Baker expressed delight at the commencement of an additional flight to Maldives. He stated that ” We are pleased that we can continue in our efforts to provide our passengers with even more opportunity to experience this captivating destination.”

In October 2017, Qatar Airways became the first airline to fly the state-of-the-art A350 aircraft to Maldives. The airway’s double-daily A330 service airline's with the A350 aircraft which has a total of 283 seats, with 36 Business class seats and 247 in Economy Class.

Qatar Airways currently operates 14 flights from Doha to Maldives which will increase to 21 per week following the addition.

Doha (DOH) to Maldives (MLE) QR676 departs: 05:20 arrives: 12:20

Maldives (MLE) to Doha (DOH) to QR677 departs: 18:30 arrives: 21:40

Qatar Airways operates to over 150 destinations worldwide with a modern fleet of more than 200 aircrafts.
