Maldives National University (MNU) has opened a fund box to raise relief aid, to assist flood victims in Pakistan.
The Society for Shariah and Law, a students' association of MNU launched "Help Pakistan Fund" for the initiative.
The fund box was officially launched by the Deputy Head of Mission of Pakistan High Commission in the Maldives, Zulqarnain Ahmed.
The Society of Shariah and Law (SSL) confirms a total of five such fund boxes will be installed, which include two boxes at the central MNU complex, one at the MNU Business School, one at the School of Nursing and one more at the site of the ongoing MNU futsal tournament.
The students' association further claimed they were discussing with MNU branches across other atolls, to install similar fund boxes on their respective campuses.

Thankful for the initiative, Deputy Head of Pakistan High Commission claimed such assistance and those who provide aid will be remembered forever.
He also praised the university for the fostering ideal and responsible students.
Several attendees including students, lecturers and senior members of the university donated to the box at the inaugural ceremony on Monday, October 10.
