Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Fathmath Thaufeeq (Kudy) has been dismissed from her position.
Mihaaru News reports that her dismissal has been confirmed to the news outlet. Fathmath Thaufeeq was appointed as Managing Director of MMPRC on December 17 last year.
Exact reasons behind her dismissal have not been revealed as of yet.
While Fathmath Thaufeeq has been dismissed from her position, Chairperson of MMPRC Aisha Nurain Janah resigned from her post yesterday.
Reports suggest that there were extensive differences of opinion between Thaufeeq and the board of directors of MMPRC. For a number of days now, there has been discord amongst the board in relation to decisions of the company regarding expenses for various planned activities.
While Nurain has handed in her resignation yesterday, the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) representative on the board, Rafil Mohamed, also resigned last month.
