A massive rally took place in Malé City on Friday evening as hundreds of people gathered to raise their voices against Israeli atrocities and show solidarity with the Palestinians.

The rally, organized by the private organization Aamunge Ekuveri Gulhun and the Right Movement, began from Rasfannu Area to the Artificial Beach Area through Majeedhee Magu. A significant number of women and children participated in the event.

During the rally, participants chanted slogans calling for a "boycott" of Israel and voiced their opposition against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In response to the Maldives' vocal support for Palestine, the Foreign Ministry of Israel issued a warning to its citizens, discouraging travel to the Maldives.

Earlier, on October 13, a similar rally was also held in Malé City, demonstrating the unwavering support and solidarity of the Maldivian people with the Palestinian cause.

In addition to Malé City, solidarity marches were also held in various islands across the Maldives. Several local organizations, media outlets, and individuals in the country have collaborated to provide aid to the Palestinians.

The International Aid Campaign (IAC), a local non-governmental organization offering aid to Palestinians, has successfully raised over MVR 12 million through their fund.

The situation in the region deteriorated since Hamas initiated a surprise attack on Israel on October 7. In retaliation, Israel has carried out a series of powerful attacks on Palestine, resulting in the loss of more than 4,000 Palestinian lives and leaving over 15,000 people injured.
