Foreign Min to open temporary Germany-Schengen Visa Biometric Clinic

Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host a temporary Germany-Schengen visa Biometric Clinic in the capital city of Male’ from February 3 to 5, 2020.

Organized by the Embassy of Germany, the clinic will operate from 0900 hrs to 1800 hrs at the foreign ministry.

Interested individuals must book an appointment before 1730 hrs on January 25 using the following link:

The temporary Germany-Schengen Visa Clinic is intended to ease difficulties faced by Maldivians while acquiring visas to travel to Germany, including those participating in the Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin (ITB) Fair which will be held in March.

On December 16, 2019, Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid and Ambassador of Germany Jörn Rohde released a joint statement announcing that a permanent Schengen Visa Application Centre will be established in Maldives.

The centre will be established in collaboration with VFS Global and is set to commence operations on March 2, 2020.
