French flag carrier, Air France, is to operate the new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to the Maldives during winter 2018.
Several international media have reported changes brought to the airline's flights to the Maldives. From November 1, 2018 onwards, two weekly flights from Paris, Charles de Gaulle to Male, Velana International Airport will be operated via a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Additionally, the Skyteam will introduce a third weekly rotation from December 10, 2018, which will be operated on Mondays from Paris and Tuesdays from Male.
The new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will be replacing the 777-200ER. It boasts more passenger and cargo capacity with the 20 percent better fuel and emissions. The cabins in 787-9 are wider and will provide passengers the comfort of more personal space. In addition, the aircraft has the largest windows on a jet which can be dimmed at the touch of a button.
Apart from rare flights from Italy’s Naas Airline, no other airline currently operates Dreamliner flights to the Maldives.
