Ali Naseer completes term as Permanent Representative to UN

The Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations (UN) and Maldivian Ambassador to Canada Dr Ali Naseer Mohamed completed his time in office on Friday.

According to a tweet by Ali Naseer, representing Maldives at the highest diplomatic arena was a privilege. His tweet further expressed gratitude towards President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Additionally, in conclusion of his term as the permanent representative of Maldives to UN, Ali Naseer made a farewell call on UN's Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Ali Naseer was appointed as an ambassador in former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom's administration, during 2017. Prior to being appointed as an ambassador, he was Foreign Secretary in Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Solih recently appointed Thilmeeza Hussain to fill the post of permanent representative to the UN as well as the Maldivian ambassador to Canada.
