Maldives United Opposition (MUO) has decided to send a special team to strengthen its activities in India.
According to the Deputy Chairman of main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Ali Niyaz, this decision was made as the opposition activities have gone down these days. He added that the re-registration of Maldivians living in India for the upcoming Local Council Elections was generally low. Hence, the MUO decided to send a special campaign team to India to increase activities.
Niyaz noted that MDP's deputy leader Mohamed Shifaz, Vaiakaradhoo MP Ahmed Nazim and members of MDP's National Committee will also take part in the meetings scheduled on Saturday.
This meeting aims to give information on the election and the difficulties faced by Maldivians living in India.
It is noteworthy that MDP has been actively meeting Maldivians living abroad and campaigning for the Local Council Elections.
