The main sponsor for the Maldives National Football Team, Bank of Maldives (BML), gifted the team MVR 600,000 for winning the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship 2018.
All the players and officials are to receive MVR 20,000 each.
The money was gifted in a master reloadable card which was customized with a picture of the team.
The card was handed over to the team during a special ceremony held in Hotel Jen on Thursday morning. All of the BML managers took part in this ceremony held to celebrate the team's win.
BML, which has been sponsoring the national football team since 2017, is working with Football Association Maldives (FAM) to plan out special activities for the team.
The 'Red Snappers' were crowned champions on September 15, after defeating India by two goals to one.
