Nominations open for Journalism Awards

Nomination opportunity for the Journalism Awards hosted by Maldives Media Council (MMC) has been officially opened.

The nomination window will be open until July 2 under two distinct categories and 12 different areas.

The awarding areas include;

1. Investigative Journalism

2. Sustainable Development and Social Correspondence

3. Politics

4. Law and Judiciary

5. Business and Economy

6. Sports

7. Photo Journalism

8. Video Journalism

9. Graphics and Illustrations

10. Feature

11. Most Promising Journalist

12. Best Journalist of the Year

MMC has introduced new categories for audio journalism, graphics, and illustration in their Journalism Awards from 2021 and have been included in subsequent award ceremonies.

According to the regulations set by the council, journalists who are eligible for nomination must have a minimum of nine months of working experience in the field between January 1 and December 31, 2022.

The Maldives Media Council launched the Journalism Awards in 2014 and has held the event annually ever since.
