In their official general meeting, the Male' City Council announced that all public roads in Male', Vilimale', and Hulhumale' will be vehicle-free during Eid day from 16:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs.
Male' City Council has implemented a ban on vehicular movement within Malé City during the evening of Eid al-Adha.
In their official general meeting, the Male' City Council announced that all public roads in Male', Vilimale', and Hulhumale' will be vehicle-free during Eid day from 16:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs.
According to their announcement, a special sticker will be issued to vehicles traveling in case of emergencies by the City Council's Public Service Department.
Stickers will be issued on:
- Friday, June 14 (14:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs and 19:00 hrs to 23:00 hrs)
- Saturday, June 15 (10:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs and 21:00 hrs to 23:00 hrs)
"...This is a public announcement that vehicular movement of engine and battery vehicles will be banned on the aforementioned day from 16:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs in Male', Hulhumale', and Vilimale'. Legal action will be taken against those in violation of this regulation," the announcement read.
Every Eid, the Male' City Council bans vehicular movement on public roads in Male' City for a period of time to facilitate public movement on foot on Eid day.
Eid al-Adha falls on Sunday, June 16.
