Supreme Court on Sunday commenced trials after end of the recess with the newly appointed bench.
Since the court was in recess at the time Chief Justice Ahmed Muthasim Adnan and Judge Husnu Al Suood were appointed, they are yet to preside over any cases.
Judge Dr Azmiralda Zahir, Judge Aisha Shujoon Mohamed and Judge Mahaz Ali Zahir, all three of whom were appointed earlier, have already presided over cases.
Although the Court resumed with a new five-member bench, two more positions remain vacant. Judicial Service Commission has not given any advice on appointments to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
