MPL projects to increase revenue without depending on government: Wajeeh

CEO of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim has said that the company has many projects planned for the future in a bid to increase revenue, and assured that these projects will be run without depending on the government.

Wajeeh made these comments in a meeting held with leaders of the maritime industry to seek their ideas and thoughts on the upcoming projects of MPL. Wajeeh said that it is important to seek feedback from industry stakeholders as the upcoming projects mainly concern that field.

In today's meeting, MPL shared details of the projects planned for the upcoming five years. Wajeeh said that these projects would be conducted without depending on the government, and are planned in ways that would contribute to increasing the company's revenue.

Stakeholders at the meeting highlighted the importance of broadening the maritime industry, and shared concerns and ideas.

Wajeeh stated that it was a productive meeting. He said that the company would work to increase youth participation in the development of the maritime industry, and would work to develop experts in the field.
