All arrested in Hulhumalé car hostage incident released

All five individuals arrested for their alleged involvement in holding a man hostage inside a car in Hulhumalé and attempting to extort money out of him have been released from remand.

Police said at the time that a complaint was filed about a Maldivian male being held hostage inside a car, on Hulhumalé's Orchidmaa Hingun on 11th November. The agency detailed that the victim was tortured and that the perpetrators called his family and tried to extort money from them.
