Alp Cafe and Bistro, in commemoration of World Autism Awareness Month, is donating all proceeds generated in customer revenue on Sunday to Maldives Autism Association.
As one of the handful of bistros in capital Male’ that offers customers exquisite specialty coffee, Alp is inviting all to visit the aesthetically quaint cafe' on April 14 to create awareness and partake in amassing funds to contribute to the association, all the while enjoying the restaurant’s delectable food and drinks.
In an exclusive interview to The Edition, Alp’s Marketing Executive Auf Abdul Majeed said, “We will start from eight in the morning until 12 at midnight… all proceeds from what customers order, coffee, drinks, or pastries, will go to the Maldives Autism Association".
According to Auf, the decision to hold the fundraising event was made collaboratively by both the management and the staff. The initiative was spurred on further as they wanted to take a more active role than just raising awareness.
Visitors can learn facts about autism through the printed placards that will be placed on each of the tables illustrating facts about the development disorder.
In addition to the revenue generated by sales, a donation box will be available for patrons to extend further financial aid.
The bistro is also to host live music performances by up-and-coming artist Huyam Haleem at 2000 hours.
On April 14, ALP is geared up to encourage all-inclusivity as they commit to #brewingbluestogether.
