A total of 214 delegates from 107 companies from the Maldives' tourism sector have participated in the ITB Berlin Fair, the world's largest tourism fair.

MMPRC has highlighted that the ongoing fair, which kicked off yesterday, presents a valuable opportunity to establish connections with global travel trade partners. The main goal is to showcase individual resorts and tourism service establishments in the Maldives, actively involving travel agents. The schedule includes specialized meetings crafted for this purpose, facilitating interactions between local companies and foreign travel partners.

The Maldivian ITB stand has been built over an area of 500 square feet. The two-storey stand has 104 co-exhibitor counters and 60 B2B meeting tables.

Germany has consistently ranked among the top 10 countries with the highest tourist arrivals in the Maldives for the past three years, currently holding the fifth position. To date, the Maldives has welcomed around 27,000 tourists from Germany this year.

The Berlin Fair, initiated in 1966, stands as the world's largest travel fair. This year, over 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries are actively participating in the event, contributing to its global significance.
