Saudi Arabia has been included in the top ten countries with the most tourist arrivals to Maldives for the first time.
Statistics from the Tourism Ministry show that, so far this year, 1,182 tourists have arrived in the Maldives from Saudi Arabia. Last year, Saudi Arabia averaged around 13 and 20 rank, in terms of most arrivals to Maldives.
In January of 2023, 1,400 tourists visited Maldives from Saudi Arabia. It is expected this number will be exceeded in the remaining two weeks of January.
Approximately 30,000 tourists visited Maldives from Saudi Arabia last year.

Tourist arrivals to Maldives have been increasing yearly after the pandemic.
Last year, around 80,000 tourists visited Maldives from Middle Eastern countries. In addition to Saudi Arabia, tourists from UAE and Kuwait have also increased.
So far this year, Maldives has welcomed 51,000 tourists to the country.
