Maldivian table tennis player Fathimath Dheema Ali manages significant achievement by advancing to quarter finals of two of the singles categories at the South Asian Junior and Cadet Championship.
After facing some unpleasant outcomes at the team and doubles events, the star player made commendable strides at the singles event while another local player Aishath Rafaa Nazim had managed similar victories at the singles events.
Dheema advanced to the quarter finals by managing victories in both games she played. She landed wins in all three sets of the games played during the first round of the junior singles categories.
Though she had reached top rank in the singles events, her position in the quarter finals will be cemented following the outcomes of the remaining cadet events.
Meanwhile, Dheema managed to win almost all of her singles games under the team events.
Rafaa , the other player who inched close on securing quarter final position, had played one game in the singles event. She emerged as the victor against her game against Pakistan's Haika with a 3-1 score.
Meanwhile, the boys from the Maldivian team had to face disappointment with losses at the singles event.
