Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has signed an agreement with Malaysia's Netherlands Maritime University College (NMUC) to offer educational and training opportunities for its employees.
In a ceremony held at MPL's headquarters, the agreement was signed by MPL's CEO Shahid Ali and NMUC's Executive Chairman Razali Yacoob.
Under the agreement, MPL employees will have the opportunity to pursue a range of courses related to ports, from foundation level to masters level. Additionally, MPL employees will also have the chance to participate in short programs conducted by the university.
Shahid said that as part of the agreement, MPL will sponsor the studies of six employees at the university each year. He emphasized that the agreement not only offers educational opportunities but also provides a platform for employees to gain practical work experience.
During the ceremony, Captain Razali Yacoob expressed the university's commitment to providing MPL's students with practical work experience in Malaysian ports.
Under the agreement, students will participate in consultancy-related activities in addition to education and training. This collaboration will provide additional expertise and guidance to enhance the knowledge and skills of MPL employees.
