The government has submitted for parliamentary approval the names of the three cabinet members who were reappointed to their positions by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu after they were initially rejected by the parliament.

Communications Director of Parliament Hassan Ziyau confirmed on Tuesday that the President's Office has sent the names of Ahmed Usham as Attorney General, Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed as Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development, and Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed as Minister of Islamic Affairs for parliamentary approval.

These three ministers were previously denied parliamentary approval on January 29, where the parliament approved 19 out of the 22 members of President Dr Muizzu's cabinet.

However, the same evening, the President reappointed the three to their previous posts, and had them take oath of office at a ceremony officiated by Supreme Court Judge HusnuSuood.
