Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali has called to aim for success from Majeedhiyaa School's inspirational past on Tuesday.
Speaking at the special assembly held to celebrate the school's 95th anniversary, the Minister said Majeedhiyaa School has achieved success and recognition no other school in Maldives has.
She said the oldest school in Maldives therefore have to maintain the pride it has attained so far.
Aishath Ali said that the age of the school, 95 years, is a long time. She noted that the school has had the honour of teaching three generations of students.
She said that a school's anniversary is celebrated to recognize the current employees and students at the school, and that this was a great opportunity for student's in Majeedhiyaa to learn from its former graduates. She expressed that she hopes all students will take advantage of the opportunities they have received.
She noted the most successful people were active students when they were younger, participating in various extracurricular events as well.
Majeedhiyaa School's list of students has been long over the past 95 years, and the list includes doctors, engineers, pilots and other service providers, minister said.
Looking into Maldives' past, she said that all of the nation's presidents except Mohamed Ameen had received their education in Majeedhiyaa.
