The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to investigate disciplinary complaints against two judges.
JSC will be investigating complaints against Civil Court judge Fayyaz Shathir and Seenu atoll Hithadhoo Magistrate Court’s magistrate Ziyadha Thahir.
JSC said it decided to investigate the case of Judge Fayyaz following a complaint of negligence for postponing giving a verdict on a case for nearly a year after the case hearings concluded.
In addition, JSC decided to investigate the case of Magistrate Ziyadha for alleged irresponsibility in the performance of her duties and conduct of hearings.
An investigation committee has been formed to probe the two cases, said JSC.
