Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) confirms majority of Muli airport development project has been completed.
According to the project contractor, runway reclamation and fire building plastering works are currently underway, with rapid progress, and observes 42 percent and 68 percent completion respectively.
Project scope entails reclamation operations of 14 hectares, coastal protection operations of 1,812 meters, along with construction of a 1,200 meters into 30 meters runway. Additional structures under the project include development of a taxiway and an aircraft apron. All project components will be executed by MTCC.
Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI) awarded the project to MTCC on February 28, 2022.
Project value is reported a total of MVR221.73 million, while MTCC estimates full completion by July 2023.
